Me and music

okay, so not many people around north america have herd of em, but nightwish is like this fantastic symphonic metal band, out here everyone's like nightwish who? but out in europe, their bigger than almost everything else going.

So anyway, within the past while they changed singers which altered their fanbase a little....now for those who dont know anything, there's one man in the band that writes ALL the songs and ALL the lyrics, that man is Tuomas Holopainen, everything he's written is passionate, and just amazing, the songs that really show example to that is, "forever yours", "dead boy's poem", ""deep silent complete", and finally "The Poet And The Pendulum"....i assure you, it's far more personal than anyhting you'll get out of a rapper or manufactured pop singer. I can listen to these songs, and truly feel the emotion behind it. So yeah if you havent heard of them, you should check them out, and for those who do know, YOU IN NO WAY CAN COMPARE ANETTE TO TARJA.

Now in saying that, Tarja was their original lead vocalist, she's trained opera singer, so yeah, you can imagine, there is a difference is overall sound from going from that to the popish vocals of Annette, but the same emotion and ambience is still in the songs, another person that happens to sing vocals for the band as well is the bassist Marco Hietala, again an EXTREMELY talented individual, he is the essence of metal, ( if your into metal then check out his other band tarot)....now since he has been singing since the beginning that also adds that things have changed that little....but yeah anyway...

 Now that ive gotten my utmost fav band out of the way, here's others...

now before i say anything else, everyone has their own taste in music and i know these aint the favourite of very many....but....

CRADLE OF FILTH....yeah, their a sick and twisted death metal band, but once again, masters of their art..the ambience can be bone chilling, and every song is pretty much just an elaborate and epic poem for lyrics, now im not going to say what my favourite song of theirs is, mostly due to offensiveness of titles, but it did come off of the latest album they had....that being said, the lead singer created the band....and it was an amazing experiment....the idea was to test shock tactics and blatent offensiveness, people will adore, and it worked amazingly....

Next on the odd flow of my mind, is Placebo, yup those drug loving rockers....i know it may sond very bizzare to say, but the music these guys come out with is the modern day version of david bowie....and coming from me that's saying alot....yup it's just amazing, now those who have come across them at somepoint, one pointer to help figure their songs out, 1. special k isnt referring to the cerial 2. meds is not about anyhting perscribed by any sane and legally practioning doctor and 3. EVERY song is about teenage angst, love/heartache, or drugs!. My favourite song from them is "A Song To Say Goodbye"

next on the list is an underground and just partially mainstream band Dream Theater,....now i could say alot about these guys, but to keep it short, it's a band built up of some of the very best and most technical musicians quite possibly in the past century. my favourite song from them is "Ocatvarum", it's long but simply amazing.

Next and the last im going to put on the list, just cuz, is Tarja, now yeah she's the ex singer of Nightwish, but oh my!, her voice, it's a true musical instrument in itself, and in her songs she's written, quite the amount of passion, and most are just fantastic rock tunes!, id have to say that "die alive" would be my fav so far....but"poision" would be a very close second...

so now that ive put a few great music bands to check out .... just for the hell of it im going to put my ideal band.....
